Default Why is this Martin $80,000?

Just wondering why this Martin is $80,000? Martin OM-45 Deluxe Authentic 1930 VTS Brazilian Rosewood...

Of course Brazilian Rosewood is expensive... and it’s limited to 11 guitars... But 80,000$ seems really rediculous!

Personally I don’t like the bling that goes all around the body and on the pickguard, but I know many players like that (such as on a D-45).

See link below for the $80,000 guitar! The reviews are really great haha.

Hey man,
it's only 1667 $ per month for only four years - what a deal !

I would say it's 80 k because Martin knows for sure they will sell it for that price.
Can see no other reason.

BRW is indeed expensive these days, but for reasons best known to them CFM IV & Co. seem to have taken things to new heights - although the stuff in the photo is straighter than most of what I've seen in post-1960 production Nazareth instruments...

Besides, have you priced an original 1930 OM-45 Deluxe lately...?

Maybe American Music Suppy AMS has one.
buy it, try it for 45 days and send it back...
not happy with quality for the money

Hey thats probably a cheap travel guitar for Jeff Bezos

I will wait till it goes on closeout or maybe a “b” stock customer return for $58,000

Because that’s just how the world works. There always has to be something unique and expensive for the rich to spend their cash on.

I made a comment on the Martin owners FB page about how ridiculously overpriced it was and that I would bet money it sounded no better than my D41 and also, how Martin pricing was driving so many people to Eastman, BR, RK, etc. I was promptly told by the owner of a previous version of this guitar, that no one at the price level compares tone and that it was created by the Legend, Mr. Martin himself and that Martin guitars are sold all around the world. Then he told me that my off-topic comment was not appreciated or needed! That gave me a really good laugh!!

Note: Musician's Friend links NEVER link to what you expect. But then if you were going to buy a high dollar Martin would you go to them ???

Scarcity. You don't see straight Brazilian like that anymore. Most of the stuff you see now is flatsawn to some degree to maximize yield. I'm guessing that the other 10 of those Martin made also had BRW of the same quality, so those guitars are rare before they're even sold.
