Default Eagles cover

Hi folks. Long time since I've posted anything on here.

I was browsing through some files and found this one from waaaaay back. I remember being disappointed because I got the strumming pattern all wrong so I put in my "Maybe" file and planned to add some background guitars to polish it up a bit. Unfortunately, the desire to play anything has up and left a year or so ago. Not really sure why or how, it just has.

Anyway, I thought I'd post this half finished attempt from back in the day.

Ernie...........

You have my favorite voice on this forum, absolutely pro level, bit of Timmy Schmidt there, and that ain't bad.

I'm 68 and the fire hasn't gone out, don't take paying gigs hardly at all any more, but I play every day, with my 13 year old yellow Lab singing along, it's my joy.

I HOPE your fire "re-kindles", you have a gift that can bring others joy, such a natural smooth voice, and you play..........don't lose it

It's been a while since I checked in to this forum... and boy this was a great think for me to click on. Fantastic vocals.

I love the Eagles - they introduced me to guitar in the 1970s, and I learned every song by ear I could, with trial and error chord learning.... on an old cheap spanish guitar.

Anyways, sorry for the diversion. Well done.

I love the Eagles, and that was really nice. Would love to hear your take on "Love Will Keep Us Alive".

Unbelievable
Your voice is extraordinary and singing is fantastic.
Great taste also - no ridiculous accents or cheesy phrasing.
Really enjoyable

Well you did that as well if not better than the original. I liked your vocals as much as the original anyway and that's a lot for me to say 'cause I'm real picky.

That was really good, Ernie. You must have really high standards for yourself, I don't know how it gets better than this.

The Eagles were my favorite band. Love your cover. If I could sing like that, I would be singing from the time I woke up until I went to sleep. Keep sharing your gift.
I'm not a singer and really not that good at guitar, but a couple of weekends ago I played at a nursing home. My wife sang and I played a few songs for a lady, who my wife has been visiting through our church. We made her day, and the joy on her face was priceless. It was good reminder to me to always be willing to share.
So I hope you will continue to share your talents. You have a wonderful gift. Thanks for sharing with us.

Friends,

You don’t know how much I appreciate all of your words. It’s been a difficult time and your words of affirmation have uplifted my spirits. I’ll keep on keeping on and maybe someday, I will play and record again.

Ernie,

Didn't you live in Texas, noticed a location change?

I'm 68, life throws everybody "difficult times", certainly been up and down in my life.

Here's a positive, nobody can talk music from you, you play well, your voice is wonderful, truly special. Music is therapy, let it help get you through whatever knocked you down, you have friends/fans here............
