Thanks, CB. You and me both!

Great seeing you as well, bro. I realized halfway down I-40 we failed to go by Ace Hardware. Ah well, at least we got the Harley shop in.
As for that term, what can I say other than, "I know, right?"

Neck progress!! Nice to see! And by the way, now that I know above, you'll need to check your schedule and see if a trip to Maine would work!!

Maine, huh? Pretty tempting all right...
So here is the neck at the end of today's work:

Final shaping done, finish sanding accomplished and color coat applied. Next, the seal coats go on, and then top coats.
Not long now...

Hey, we got some pics from Tony, which give an idea of finished appearance. Usually at this stage he has the first cost of clear on. Not level-sanded yet, so the reflections are a bit lumpy. But again you can get an idea of what awaits:

Thanks for looking,

Teasing me!! It’s looking really nice - particularly the bevel detail.

Yep, that's the money shot alright. But when the whole is in hand, I believe you will be pleased.

P.S.--that missing fret is not a further statement (though it could be taken that way...) but rather a spot where two pins will help us in final alignment of the neck. Then that fret WILL be driven home.
Is there a picture of the guitar with this neck (the falling leaves) on it? I'd love to see it....?

Almost, but not quite yet. The body is still at the finisher, while the neck is still gassing off. But just as soon as we can, we'll join them and snap some pics.

Hi Steve! Just sitting here listening to some music - some Rolling Stones (Waiting on a Friend) and some classic Tom Petty (The Waiting)! Also heard “Anticipation” by Carly Simon. But perhaps I should be listening to Guns N Roses (Patience)!!

hahaha! I feel your pain Steve-o. Try humming a few bars of "She'll be comin' round the mountain when she comes". See if that helps?

Not quite Steve. We’re letting the finish do its final curing, and we have the fretboard covered for now. But next week, we should have it all ready for showtime.

I love how Tom B put it, that the guitar has gone for a spa treatment. Well, she's back, and the spa did her good:

This shot ^ included intentionally to show the shine.

Personally, I love what the finish did for this LS redwood.
Thanks for your patience, and following along.
Not long now,

Steve
