Hey Bob, I read that and I too was going to post a thread. I own a lot of books on the early days of Fender and Gibson (and Marshall) and I never heard of Leo asking Les to endorse the Tele. Great history.

Good article, thanks for sharing. As you have well pointed out, Gibson was producing high quality professional grade instruments at substantial prices for the time, in comparison to the Telecaster, a mass production lower priced budget model.
