That is why humans and other species travel.
Resources? So what does our little planet have that is in short supply elsewhere?

Thoughts of the old story "To Serve Man".

Secondly, the pure desire for research - like we explore and record/document other species.

Maybe we are in a kind of zoo and don't even realise it?
I don't think a species capable of interstellar travel would need earth resources. In many respects we live on an unremarkable rock, with millions
probably similar to our own.

I think that curiosity is probably fundamental to advanced civilisations. Hopefully they just want to check us out.

Humans are coming round to the idea that most animals are best left to themselves in their own environment. A sort of earth based Prime Directive.

Aliens will probably leave us alone until we prove ourselves civilised enough to converse with.

I don’t believe there is intelligent life anywhere but here on earth.
That’s it.

That’s it.
And even that is sometimes debatable.

I can't see it being mathematically possible, there isn't

When one commutes on any section of Urban freeway I think it's a forgone conclusion , talk about "heard immunity" to the reality, that if we would only leave enough space, we could probably commute at least at 40 to 50 mph ,,, But as the Eagles sang . "I guess I've alway been a dreamer "

And then
And in all honesty I was guilty when I was younger until I finally and at long last listened to and (understood ) Alabama "Im in hurry but don't know why"

+1. I think that if Aliens were to come here it would be to expand their empire/take resources OR they're explorers looking to meet new civilizations, learn new experiences, and perhaps make a new friend. We humans are both of those.

I waiting for the EVO version of the monolith. Nice subtle gold tint, and yet easier when you need to tell your interstellar luthier to level and reprofile your monolith.
