The current disc in my car is "Stage Fright" by The Band...

Gerry Mulligan's "Paraiso" is coming next... LOVE Jane DuBoc's singing... sigh...

Wow - easily approachable to listen to & memorable/ hum-able, yet virtuosic and pushing the boundaries of what the acoustic guitar is capable of. Maybe that kind of paradox is common to genius.

Rush: Test For Echo (1996) on 3 sides of vinyl

The Rush catalogue is so deep that in some polls fans ranked this LP near least favourite, but yet among others near the best - count me in the latter camp - layers of guitars & guitar driven

I always stream Spotify at home and in my car. today I felt nostalgic and was listening to Roxette thinking about her passing away last month perhaps because we were about the same age and the late 80s in the mid 90s were such a fun time. God bless her.

My Steve Earle Pandora station recently rolled in The Dirt Drifters and I think I have liked every song from them so far and just this past week The Steel Drivers dropped into rotation and I'm really diggin' them.

Early 20s jazz - King Oliver, New Orleans Rhythm Kings, Original Memphis 5, New Orleans Owls, & many others - an incredibly rich & creative period of 20th century music, & so much of it miraculously captured on recordings - & the quality of modern remastering is able to bring out the majesty of it.
