The client has chosen to start with Newtone Master Class Double Wound strings. Though I suspect he may do some experimenting until he finds the "perfect" set.

This is how the guitar looks just before finish prep:
I wasn't convinced that we were going to hit the "rustic" mark at first. But changing the rosette from radial kingwood to walnut and implementing radial myrtle purfling around the top and rosette really tied the whole design together. I think it hit the design mark spot on without being too over the top. I guess you could call it "new rustic with a slightly modern twist".

Chris, I think this looks to beautiful to be labeled "rustic!" Though I do love the binding and purfling - it does give a lot of visual interest to something that probably would normally be overlooked. Very sweet...

As handsome as usual, Chris. I bet that baby looks spectacular under finish!

Quote:
Speaking of.... The customer opted for a satin finish. It's the same chemistry as my gloss finish, but with a flattening agent mixed into the topcoat. It makes for a beautiful look without all the glare of gloss.

Final photos are so much fun for me. I enjoy getting behind a lens and exploring all the little details. It's another way I get to be involved in an artistic expression and it allows me to stop working on my work and finally enjoy it. I hope you enjoy it as well:
There's a full gallery on my website. Thanks for following along.
