Default Curious action Phenomenon

Hi.
Continuing with stories of my Cordoba C10:
Yesterday I took it with me to a Home Depot as I needed a new Allen (Alan) wrench and wasn't sure of the size needed..This way I could if need be make sure the $6 set of about 10 had the one I needed.. And it did, of course !
But instead of going 'righty tighty' with the truss rod as I intended to, I went 'lefty loosey' a smidge at the store..
When I got home I found it easier to play with strings a tad higher (well, actually, the relief a tad deeper) than before I did this !!
You'd think higher action would cause more LH fatigue, not less fatigue !!
Can anyone explain why I played pieces better this way, not worse ? One thing for sure is, as always, the box was louder, which I like..Could this be part of it ?
