Default DIY dual source vs stereo IR

Hi guys,

just bought an 2003 00-18V with a Thinline gold plus UST pickup. This is somehow the little sister of Maury's OM-28V so I played the Maury tune for the demo.

I decided to keep the pickup and add an internal mic. I had to make a new preamp. It's the battery powered version (no internal voltage doubling). I had to mod a bit because the mic grabbed too much low end and the goldplus is much hotter than my DIY SBT pickup.

1:40 Shure SM57. Strumming.
2:17 Martin Thinline goldplus (piezo UST). Fingerstyle.
2:43 Martin Thinline goldplus (piezo UST). Strumming.

Dual source with crossover :
3:10 Full internal mic above 250Hz. Fingerstyle.
3:23 Full internal mic above 250Hz. Strumming.
3:41 50% piezo UST 50% internal mic. Fingerstyle.
4:07 50% piezo UST 50% internal mic. Strumming.

Stereo IR convolution (tight stereo image):
4:46 100% piezo UST + IR convolution. Home made stereo IR. Fingerstyle.
5:11 100% piezo UST + IR convolution. Home made stereo IR. Strumming.

Default Digital version of the preamp with IR onboard

Here is an all digital preamp dual source blender crossover + IR
* Below 250 Hz Piezo (Martin thinline goldplus)
* Above 250 Hz Blend between Piezo and internal mic
High-pass filters (HPF) available on both piezo and internal mic

Optional IR convolution with custom made IR file
IR section includes
* HPF
* Low-Mid-Treble EQ (with Peak EQ at specified frequencies instead of shelf EQ)

0:01 Introduction
1:52 100% Piezo
2:39 Above 250Hz, 100% Internal mic (Dual source)
3:10 Above 250Hz, 50% Internal mic 50% Piezo (Dual source)
5:38 Piezo
6:04 100% IR
7:58 IR, then Piezo, then Dual source (sorry for the distotion on the last... I could not hear well while recording)

EVERYTHING is done by the little green electronic PCB card on top. The Akai midimix is just here to provide knobs (convenient for prototyping).

The only thing "hidden" is the 9V power of the internal mic... That is easy to add in a boxed version.
