Article about harassment by eBay employees
Shocked and appalled that there were 6 employees who would go to such lengths.

Thanks for the link Dirk. Holy cow, talk about going rogue, or was there more knowledge and direction from eBay execs? Hmmm….

Yikes! That’s some wacky stuff. Hard to believe people in a huge entity like eBay would have time to zero in on someone and go to those lengths, although if the “takedown” order came from the bigwigs, I can see it.

In a statement published today, eBay says it was notified by law enforcement of suspicious behavior in August 2019 and began its own investigation. By September 2019, it terminated all involved employees, including its former chief communications officer. The time to suspect a conspiracy is when there is evidence of a conspiracy, not the mere possibility of a conspiracy. |

From the same article:
…eBay’s former CEO Devin Wenig left the company the same month. “The internal investigation found that, while Mr. Wenig’s communications were inappropriate, there was no evidence that he knew in advance about or authorized the actions that were later directed toward the blogger and her husband,” eBay said. “However, as the Company previously announced, there were a number of considerations leading to his departure from the Company.” We’ll of course they’re going to say that. Damage control. And it’s not a conspiracy theory if there is in fact a conspiracy.

Wow, this all happened in 2019 and the arrests were in 2020 and this is the first I heard of it. How did this not hit the evening news?

I don't have the negative perception of Ebay that some/many have so the actions of these employees really astound me...

Calling them "employees" is misleading.
They were executives. Senior Director of Safety & Security . . . Director of Global Resiliency . . . etc. Upper management. Policy makers. Not talking about some random bad apples in logo polo shirts here.

Exactly. Top-level Execs. Folks who get to retire with millions in severance. When an “employee” misbehaves, it’s different.

There can absolutely be a conspiracy, and if you have zero evidence of it you are 100% engaged in a conspiracy theory by suggesting there might be. Basic logic. |

Conspiracy = a secret plan by a group to do something unlawful or harmful. Based on the charges filed, it was a conspiracy. The question is how high it went.

Clearly my post was referencing the suggestions of a larger conspiracy beyond what we already know. For that which we know, no theory is required.
