Default Strings for Cordoba GK Studio Negra

My search for a nylon string guitar in this price range finally ended with a GK Studio Negra. It's punchy tone, 50mm nut width and a neck angle that facilitates lower action won me over. I imagine this is one of Cordoba's most popular models.

But my D string snapped across the nut after having it only 3 days! So, I need some string recommendations.

I know it ships with Savarez Crystal Corum High Tension 500CJ strings.

And I have a couple sets of Savarez 520R Medium Tension strings that I use on my Godin Multiac. Has anyone tried Medium Tension strings on the GK?

Thanks for your suggestions.

I haven't- but the 520 series basses are very nice, in my experience. Why not give them a try? You could easily like them better..
