Still working thorough a couple Fingerstyle Blues books I picked up at Xmas, which is giving me plenty to work on.
Two great songs! I'm going to put them on the list.

Right now I'm working on John Prine's In Spite of Ourselves and Doug Sahm's Give Back the Key to My Heart ala Uncle Tupelo. I can sing the second one but the first one is going to take a lot more practice to sing while I'm playing.

Oh, also Steve Earle's Someday

I'm learning (and teaching) alot of Electric Light Orchestra songs at the moment. I have a learner who loves this sort of stuff and we are going back through the archives learning to play the songs. Jeff Lynne is a fantastic songwriter and the chord progressions he comes up with are amazing. I'm really enjoying playing these on my recently acquired D28!

I'm working on Across the Universe fingerstyle from a Hal Leonard book of Beatles tunes. And Springsteen's Youngstown in drop D, thanks to AGF member Mike Kelly who does video lessons for Guitars for Vets.

Hello in There" by John Prine
"Speed of the Sound of Loneliness" by John Prine

Fine choices. 67 years old just starting out. I live over in Vermont would happy to invite you over sometime if you come up this way. My young instructor and I are just starting out with Sam stone tomorrow morning. I can’t even play a tune yet. I’m a lefty and fingerpicking.

This week’s project is Eleven Small Roaches, by Michael Hedges (it’s easy Hedges, sort of). Getting my hands to stretch for the tremolo chords has been a challenge! At some point, I realized I had all three of my regular-rotation six strings tuned CGDGBD…

'Genesis' from Jorma Kaukonen's 'Quah' record. Lovely tune I only discovered via a movie (The Shape of Water), where a snippet was played in the background of one scene.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tVlllUuQWew

Classical Gas by Mason Williams. I am a beginner and this has been on my bucket list for some time.

I’m currently relearning a few Celtic pieces that I haven’t played in ages. Duck Baker’s arrangement of Pretty Girl milking a Cow and El McMeen’s Inisheer Air. After that I have a couple of fingerstyle pieces by Masaaki Kishibe that I like to add to my repertoire.
