Default Is there a movie car or tv car you would like to own?

I saw in another thread about the Smokey and the Bandit Trans Am being auctioned off. While there hasn't been a lot of love for the old TA in that other thread, is there a car from a tv show or movie that you would like to own? How about just a pain around the block?

I'd take the Porsche Speedster Paul Newman used in his Lew Harper movies.

"The Car" in the first 2 Mad Max movies. I did have the same year model Ford Falcon for a few years but it was a 4-door sedan (not the coupé) with standard appointments, 6 cyl auto etc. Hmmmm.........not quite the same.

Guess we'll have to flip for it.

Plus 1.
If Ford would build '68 Mustang fastbacks with all modern drivetrain, suspension and brakes they couldn't keep up with demand. They got it right that year and it can't be improved on.

Though I'd take a ride in that '68 Bullitt 'Stang any day (being a car racing starter, I'd even let flaggerphil take a ride first), my favorite Mustang is the '65 GT 2+2 Fastback. However, I agree with you, that being bigger than the '65, I think Ford could reissue a modern version of the '68 with identical looks/size and it would be hugely popular. They did a good job when reintroducing the 2005 retro, but it was even bigger overall than the '70s models. They kept it looking pretty retro and good until the '14 model year, but imo, instead of really capitalizing on the retro look for the 50th anniversary, Ford really dropped the ball and took the easy way by basing the '15 model year on the Fusion look to the extent that what they call the Mustang to me looks more like it should be called a Fusion GT. Doesn't work for me anymore at all.

I agree. I saw one on the road today and thought it is losing it's "Mustangness" and morphing
Into some sort of Ford based sports car. This is the same thing they did with the original in the '70's when it grew too big then became a glorified Pinto when the gas crisis hit.

Loved that Mustang but I wouldn't say no to any of the James Bond Aston Martins.
Not so keen on the Lotus cars in the Roger Moore era but ALL the Astons are beautiful.
The Toyota GT2000 used in 'You Only Live Twice' is the most collectible Japanese car made. Yamaha put a twin-cam head on a Toyota Crown 6-cylinder engine, they also used their woodworking skills learned from making musical instruments to trim the interior of the car. BTW there were never any convertibles made, they cut the top off 2 cars to get better views of Sean Connery.
