Default Astor Piazzolla - Oblivion arranged by Roland Dyens

Astor Piazzolla arr. Roland Dyens | Oblivion

In celebration of Astor Piazzolla's birth centenary this year, it has been immensely gratifying to learn and grow through yet another extraordinary arrangement by Roland Dyens. In fact, this particular arrangement, along with the rest of Dyens' collection of Piazzolla arrangments, turned out to be his final set of works before his passing and they are exemplary of Dyens' ability to push the guitar's abilities to its limits. This arrangement of Oblivion is a wonderful commemoration of both Piazzolla and Dyens, and I hope you all enjoy this interpretation as much as I have discovering all the wonders this emotionally charged piece has to offer!

One of my favourite composers for guitar. That’s a beautiful piece and complex arrangement (as you’d expect from Dyens) Thanks for sharing - inspirational.

This is the best performance of this arrangement I have come across, Kevin. Beautifully executed.

I play Nadja Kossinskaja‘s arrangement, which works well on a steel string as well as classical, but this arrangement is on another level. Bravo!
