Trini Lopez Passed
Sad news. I know he’s an electric guitarist primarily, but he was at the top of the charts with his versions of “Hammer Song’ and “Lemon Tree.” He was a pioneer as a cross-over artist. Gibson had 2 Trini Lopez model electrics.
If you check out his early work on YouTube, you’ll see he fronted a smoking hot 3-piece band.

Very sad. For those of you young'uns, here's Trini doing one of his Bob Dylan covers...

Actually, that's a Pete Seeger/Lee Hays composition, first done by the Weavers...

I had forgotten that he was in the movie “THe Dirty Dozen” until I checked his obituary a few moments ago. 83 years old. Died from complications of coronavirus.

That’s one
That’s one Trini Lopez model—a deep-bodied ES with very pointy cutaways. The other was a TDC ES body with a non-reverse Firebird-like headstock. I remember the fretboard had unique inlays, too. I’ve seen only one in person.
