Back in my working days, I'd get up around 5:30 to 6:00, shower, dress, and head to the office by 7:00 or so to get there by 7:30, with a quick stop at McDonalds for a breakfast sandwich and a cup of coffee.
Nowadays I'm retired. My wife works from home. She gets up before me, around 6:45, heads out to the kitchen and then her office, which is the second bedroom. I sleep in until 7:30 or so. I am VERY slow in the morning. After having to be somewhere for over 40 years, I treasure not having to rush or answer to any demands. I make a cup of coffee, make a breakfast sandwich or cereal and have some V-8 juice after my shower and take my good ol' time. I hate to be hurried. My wife does everything in a hurry and it's her most aggravating trait. I'm a "stop and smell roses" guy. She's a "let's get this done so we can get something else accomplished" type. LOL
I stay up later than her. After dinner, I play my guitars while she watches TV.

Have been retired for 14 years and still can't kick the habit. Wake up around 0430 and haven't mastered the art of falling back asleep.

Quietly make some coffee, go online and check weather/news, then go for a 1-3 mile walk thru the woods. Used to go out when the sun was not quite up and you could barely see the path/road, but 3 1/2 bears hanging out in the area convinced me to wait till it's full daylight.

Caffeine usually gets my motor running, but meeting a bear in the woods adds a turbo charger...….

I was hoping by now at nearly 58 the demands to be up & running would have eased off a bit but it's gone the other way. So basically up at 4.30 am or earlier, load all my survey gear, tablet & laptop, charged batteries etc. into my ute, breakfast, feed the dog, nature's call, shower, prepare lunch, make a coffee for the road & on my way by 5.30 or so & my motor definitely running by then.

An hour & 10 min drive down a mostly single lane rural highway but always allowing extra for fog which can sometimes be thick as pea soup the whole way. There is plenty of potential road kill, roos on the ridges, wombats on the flats & over creeks, foxes, rabbits, occasionally wild deer & lots of heavy transport in both directions so 100% concentration needed all trip.

Work kicks off at 7.00 am but prestart 5 min beforehand so need to be onsite early. The best thing lately is that there is the first signs of predawn daylight when I leave (the whole trip was in darkness morning & evening back in June) but contractors being contractors have decided from next week it's a 6.30 start. Oh well. reset the alarm for 4.00.

My routine is very similar, although I walk the dog for about 1/2 hour starting at 6:45 am.

You are lucky to have your swim club open!.I have improvised and swim one mile in open water. If we are lucky, that can continue for another 6 weeks(western WA state).Hope the indoor pools will be available by then(have my doubts...)

I’m a night owl and not a morning person. Too bad I work a job that requires a 5:45am alarm. I try to snooze as long as possible and it’s always a mad rush, to get showered, teeth and hair brushed, dressed, coffee made, lunch and work bag grabbed, and now recently getting a 1 year old Up, dressed and ready for daycare.

The more night preparation I do, the easier it is but it’s always a mad dash. I’m a school teacher, but I’m not usually fully running until my first class is over and I’ve drank a full 32oz. cup of coffee.

We have a 16 year old deaf almost totally blind dog that wakes up between 4:30 - 5:30 every morning and starts barking to go out to do her stuff in the yard. I get up with her, take her out, feed her, grab a cub of coffee, and head to my music room with the dog. She gets on the couch and falls back asleep. I grab a guitar and play thru the entire contents of my 220 page guitar book (takes an hour) while I watch motivational videos and sermons. Then I go out and have time with my wife till she takes off for work (I work from home).

Two cups of coffee while reading the newspaper, sometimes a couple of eggs with toast. Get the dog and cats fed. The whole thing takes about an hour.
