My Fav: The Long And Winding Road from the last album Let It Be...

Why?: I don't know, but there is something spiritual about it that moves me...I still perform it in my shows occasionally.

I'm just a huge Beatles fan...and, yes I remember seeing them on the Ed Sullivan Show (or "Shew"). This task of naming one is impossible...so I'll make it something a little random...

I don't have a favorite, or one that stands out from others that I equally enjoy/respect. I suppose if one of their songs had some kind of special association with my life I would identify with it, but I don't.

I, as others, think this an impossible task. That being said, for now, I'll go with:

Rain (pre-Revolver, if just barely)
Two of Us

(I was tempted to cite "You Know My Name (Look Up the Number)" if only for the nyuk nyuk factor).

I’ll second this one for John’s tonsil wrenching vocals!!!

#1. Ticket To Ride

The angst just cuts through me. I can feel the pain of unrequited love.

#2 and #3 is a tie between Paperback Writer and Day Tripper.

But does the current crop of music consumers think so? In other words, transplant the Beatles to 2018, wipe out the past, what happens?
They'd look stupid in those suits.

For the ultimate BASS Fixing a Hole.
I love Hello Goodbye because it successfully obliterates one of song writings "tenets" Always keep the same first, second or third person, through the whole song.
I love Eight Days a Week during their Bourbon period.
I'm Only Sleeping has a great slag drum and backwards memorex.

For acoustic guitar driven melodic genius, I like Till There Was You:
[Pre-Chorus]
Then there was music and wonderful roses
They tell me in sweet fragrant meadows
Of dawn and dew

I Will is also an excellent song for playing on a ukulele. But that's true of many other Beatles tunes as well.

"Paperback Writer", because it is just a killer song.
Awesome riff; excellent lyrics and vocals; a great, driving rhythm; and cutting edge production techniques for the time.
A classic.

Interesting thing about the "Let It Be" album. It was recorded before Abbey Road but the release was pushed back and Abbey Road was released first.
