Default 12-String RainSong Concept - would you buy it???

I looked up the E-e tuning post spacing for a Strat and it is roughly 5 inches. There seems to be enough space on the 6-string RainSong headstock to accommodate two sets of those tuners (righty and lefty), but it would crowd the logo and not look like a normal 12-string. This way they could retain their current neck tooling and produce a 12 string. However, is it going to be too unusual looking for the market???

Good thinking Jon. Now, if only Rainsong would listen to you. Change the logo and its a go, tell them I said it's OK.

A simple “RS” in their traditional font between the D and G tuning machines. Still screams RainSong and you have a new 12er.

Jon you should collect a royalty for every guitar sold. A direct competitor to the current CF 12 for those not ready to embrace guitars that look otherworldly. Great [emoji362]

Rainsong's 12 has a few more differences than just the number of tuning pegs.

Also, Rainsong's 1-3/4 nut width (which is really about 20-30 thou shy of that) would make for an awfully narrow 12.

I’d buy a Rainsong 12 in a heartbeat.

You just have to be very patient. And stalk the classifieds every day for about 18 months.

That's how I got mine.

This is the approach that Joe took back in the day when he introduced a 12 string ryder. Very rare... he took the larger ryder nylon body and reconfigured the open headstock to fit in the extra tuners.... very clever.

That's the deal breaker.
