Default Which amp to get?

Looking to purchase a good acoustic amp for my newly acquired 1997 taylor bce. Doesnt need to be too loud. I wont be taking this sweet axe out and about. Just something to use my digitech jamman looper pedal with. Any advice on what i should get?

QSC CP8: versatile, pole mountable, lots of power headroom, low power consumption if you want to run on a battery, only 21 lbs, no duplication of tone controls you already own somewhere else...

You may want to trade it in instead. Elite acoustics just sent out emails for a reasonably priced upgrade to the mk2 version!

Yamaha THR5a. The USB interface is great if you want to record. And the onboard effects are nice and will get you hooked on effects.

Any of the models of Fishman's Loudbox Mini will serve you well. Light but powerful and it sounds great. No need for "charge" model if you're not taking it outside and the Bluetooth might be overkill (if you just want to stream your music as backing tracks there's an AUX input) so the "original" model will do. It was $299 new but you can get one for about $75 to $100 less if you look for used. Just be aware that some of them look pretty ugly due to a flaking Tolex issue. That doesn't affect the sound though!

Check out the NU-X Stage 50... all by itself, it's a nice amp with some good effects (chorus and reverb), but it has a wireless pedal that controls the effects (off/on), PLUS a looper and a drum track!

~$375 or less... also Bluetooth enabled...

Roland Cube Street.

This amp has a lot going for it, but if you're using it at home you'll REALLY appreciate the natural stereo reverb and chorus effects.

I'd try one out before you purchase anything else, you'll be glad you did.

The main question I have is whether or not you care about running vocals through the amp. Most of the amps people are mentioning here sound great with an acoustic guitar. It is when you plug in a mic that you start to see a real difference. That is when the Elite Acoustics and Schertler amps pull way ahead.

I had the Yamaha THR5 amp. It certainly sounded great and was a lot of fun to practice with. I sold it after doing a coffee shop gig with about seven people in it. It couldn't handle even that much volume. Just keep in mind that while it is fun by yourself, it really isn't up to even the smallest of audiences.
