The market will even out. Just a matter of time.

Sweetwater offers the best deal right now IMO.

Are you less likely to get a discount on a custom shop model? It's difficult enough to get a discount in UK anyway but was wondering if the custom shop models are fairly rigid in their pricing with not much, if any, discounting?

Default Are Martins generally hard to get at a good price right now?

You have had it good though, try living in the UK where Martin guitars are never at a good price. No lifetime warranty either. A standard D-28 is £2900!!! That’s $4000 no discounts.

That's what may put me off purchasing a Martin later in the year. As a reputable company, why would they not offer this warranty across the board? US/Canada get the lifetime warranty and, generally, a decent discount but UK is shafted. Seems a bit of a short-term oversight by Martin. Maybe someone more versed in things can answer that one.

Last week I bought a new Martin 00-28, pre-reimagined. The serial number puts the guitar at a late 2016 and they called a 2017 model which is when the dealer received the 00.

It's was "new old stock" and exactly what I was looking for, a standard model w/ 1 3/4ths nut, no aging toner. Listed at $2859 (MAP is $3099) I got it for $2759 all in, shipping and taxes. Which is about $300 less than the advertised price.

I'm happy w/ the purchase, final price was a bit better than I'd expected, I was prepared to pay the $2859 plus tax. And I'm overjoyed w/ the guitar so in my book, it was a good deal.

I cannot argue this point brother Bob but it's a good excuse for you to come visit us.

I got $300 off a new HD-35 a month ago from my favorite dealer in Bozeman... that's roughly 9% discount... seemed like when we talked that was about as good as they would do. They gave me a greater discount on accessories. I think inventory is just so low right now that things are flying off the shelves when they show up.

Yeah it’s pretty disrespectful. I’d look at Atkin if you want a brilliant Martin style guitar for under £3000, exceptional build and tone.

I’d love to but I don’t fly...
