I think ziricote is my new favorite wood. PICS + RECORDING
Wow, Febo Waanders has really delivered another masterpiece. I had the privilege to play it before I photographed it. You can hear it here, played by Arnaldo Lopez

The guitar sounds really nice, but I wonder how much of it is the tonewood and how much the construction of the guitar and the player ... me thinks its more of the latter.

Then again, it could just be that Febo uses the traditional Spanish neck joint - that must be it. Yeah Joost, I see the back and sides but the balance, proportions and execution of the whole instrument speak louder - to me, fine work.

Joost,
What a stunning guitar! I have to agree and say that Ziricote is one of my favorite tonewoods. My Doerr is made from it and I love it! Here's a pic... Kindly, Danny |

Absolutely stunning guitar. I have only played one ziricote guitar in my life. It was a Breedlove Masterclass Phoenix. That was probably the most outstanding guitar I have ever played, but sonically it seems to be apples and oranges to this one as it has a sinker top. More mellow in tone. I don't know how much I would put into b/s tonewood as far as overall sound. However, it is definitely gorgeous.

Beautiful looking and sounding as his builds always are, Joost.
All I've ever been able to afford in Zircote is an ink pen, although it's one of my favorite woods.
