Default 5 string tenor guitar

Home built. For low banjo tuning in A. I would be glad for comments or criticisms from any who have an interest.

I like it, nice folksy sound. I have an old stella tenor, but I really want a banjo...at one stage I wondered if I could add an extra string somehow...
I now have a banjo coming for my 60th so fortunately for my tenor that plan will never happen. But this seems like a fun idea. Is there a precedent or is it something you just thought up?
I notice you have a high string on the top but it isn't short, like a banjo's. What tuning are you using?

Default tuned a3, E1, A2, C#3, A3

I am a carpenter and tinker with instruments. My son plays in a folk trio. I made it for the banjo player to try out. I have not heard if he plays it and have wondered if it is too goofy? I am very glad for some positive feedback! Thank you.
The drone is a3, E1, A2, C#3, E3 (I have that wrong in the title of this post). Thanks for your interest and comment.

Just curious if it would work in CGDA tenor banjo tuning, with a low F - could be a new voice for Celtic players...

Default tunings

So far I have not learned the math for string gauge, tension. and pitch. I copy things that work do a lot of guessing. My thought for this was that it was going to be an octave banjo in G but it works better in A. I have sent it to Nathan Bowles. He uses a wide range of tunings for his traditional banjo. I hope it works out for him.

Steve DeRosa ,Regarding C,G,D,A Are you thinking an octave lower than a tenor banjo? I think that would be in the mandocello range, which is a sound I like a lot. Thanks for your interest!
