Post Tabs for 'Holly and the Ivy' by Alex de Grassi?

Hi everyone,

I'n new to the Acoustic Guitar Forum but excited to be here - I am an acoustic guitarist using the free time that I have during this lockdown year to try and improve my guitar skills!

Anyway, over Christmas I stumbled across Alex de Grassi's incredible arrangement of the Holly and the Ivy, and felt at once that I'd love to learn to play it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YsxhokLJIwU

However, I haven't been able to find the book 'A Portrait of Christmas for Fingerstyle Guitar', which contains a tab version of the arrangement, on sale anywhere. (https://www.amazon.com/Portraits-Chr...dp/B0064ROFRW/) I don't suppose anyone has any ideas of where I might be able to find or buy a tab version of this song?

Thanks so much!

Ned

Looks like it's in here, along with a bunch of other tunes.
Portrait of Christmas for Fingerstyle Guitar
From Europe though, but maybe that's where your home is?

Wow! Look at the list of artists in that collection! Laurence Juber, Alex De Grassi, Ed Gerhard, Muriel Anderson, etc. etc. I'd love to get a copy myself.

Looks like the original publisher (John August Music) is defunct, and I don't see it on Mel Bay's site as the distributor either. Maybe if enough of us email them, they'll reprint it?

Hey guys,

Many thanks for your thoughts. I've had no luck finding the book for sale, so actually emailed de Grassi - his office got back to me and said that he's actually bought back the rights to publish the sheet music for the track and will helpfully have it up for purchase on his website this month! So there's a but of luck. I can't wait!

Cheers,

Ned
