Unusual recording with my Taylor 914ce
I'm mainly an electric guitarist and last year embraced some acoustic playing -if only to lead worship ocassionally.
I'm also a major U2 fan and interested when The Edge plays an acoustic version of his songs. Here's a recording I've done where I'm playing a couple of 'bits' from U2 songs but with a difference Playing my Taylor 914ce through my Edge-like rack effects. I've also added an orchestral sound on top of the strings/notes I play (Which is called a 'Shimmer' sound). Anyway if you know the following U2 songs you might be interested with my pseudo-acoustic bit: i) All I want is you (From Rattle & Hum) ii) Mothers of the Disappeared (Joshua Tree) Enjoy my clip... That was really cool. That "shimmer" is cool. Is that an affect in your set-up or was that added post recording? I play that song when I play out sometimes and have the delay but being able to add the "shimmer" would be awesome.

Nice reproduction. I liked it. Had you not provided video I would never have known you playing an acoustic!

Hi,
The shimmer was an effect as I played. Actually there were a few effects (a-la The Edge) which include a couple of echos together with an Eventide Eclipse (Crystal Echos patch going through a Reverb unit - TC M3000 which together provided the shimmer sound) The shimmer sound pitch-shifts the signal and feeds back on itself. The PodXT provided one of the echos together with a Vox Amp Simulation. Also as I haven't (yet) got any recording stuff available I simply did a quick video. Yes, sounds very electric though some of its original acoustic is still there. Note: If you want to know a little bit more about Edge's effects esp.
