Winnipeg, Toronto and Calgary all got in (and did well). Ottawa, Edmonton, Vancouver and Montreal didn't. Montreal was on the cusp but I'm glad they didn't get in. Edmonton needs to get rid of management given they're going backwards.

Ottawa got the worst record in the league. It's a shame what's happening with the team trying to build a new arena but not going anywhere. I think the fans are not interested in going to some games because they're not sure if the team will even remain in Ottawa ... that and they lost Erik Karlsson.

Are you happy with the first round matchup? Pens at Islanders starting on Wed.

Bruins/Maple Leafs series was won by Boston in 7 games last year. Toronto has a much better team this year with Tavares.
The Islanders are not the Isles of olde and I'm looking forward to the old rivalry playing out in Pittsburgh's favor - even if they're kicking off the series in the old Barn.

The Islanders had a great season. It surprised me, especially given Tavares left.

Playoffs begin. Flames vs. Avs. Big day, in Calgary!

As for the Isles - my brother's team, growing up in NY - they are well coached by Trotz. If they get good goaltending, they could be a problem. Ditto the 'Canes. No one's touching the Bolts, though. And I see the Bruins taking out the Leafs, with minimal difficulty.

I have a good vibe, about my Flames.

Calgary took game 1. I don't anticipate them not getting by this round.

Boston down 1-0 and Pittsburgh down 2-0. Not a good start to the playoffs for my teams.

How about Tampa Bay losing both games at home? I wonder if Kucherov will be suspended?
