Not having to heat the house is kinder on my wallet (and the Earth's resources).

Another nice thing about the summer is that it isn't winter.

Seriously though, I enjoy having a coffee while reading a book on the back deck in the sun on a week-end morning.

Those of you singing the praises of Summer don't live where your first day of 90+F temps start in May (Austin has actually already had one) and run through October.

We run the AC somewhere around 220 days a year.

I want to do spring first! It's started kind of. But the "is this heaven" moment is yet to come. Yes I am in Iowa. I'm retiring at the end of June and plan on doing allot more nature then when I work. Boy do I have ideas!

summer is nice.

But the best home decision we ever made was adding a 3 season room. Aside from a few frigid cold months., as long as the sun is out. I'm out there enjoying a bug free guitar playing life.

You're correct but I'm guessing you haven't had too many blizzards either.

I think the "Snowbirds" in Canada have it right - they live in Florida (or the Southern US) in the winter and spend the other 3 seasons at their home in Canada.

....is that it isn't here yet. Around here summer = 100+ F days, no rain (not a drop) for 2-1/2 months, smoke-filled skies as we get surrounded by forest fires, endless fireworks, dust everywhere.....
Spring is king. Fall's a doll. We had the hardest winter we've had for over 20 years. But summer sucks the worst.

No, no blizzards.

And you are right about the plan. I would like a house in Colorado Springs for about 6 months a year and I will Winter in Texas.

Now where did I put that extra money?

I gig more. I sit on my screened porch and watch the birds. I listen to the wind through the trees. I spend time with friends.

Yes. It’s too hot. But my job grinds me to a nub in fall and spring. Summer is comparatively easier.

Summer is not nice in South Florida. It's brutal.

I just take what each season dishes out and at times I get tired of too much whining about it. There are short miserable periods but that's most of life.

You can change your Internet searches with cellular smart watch he he he.... I love the way that allows my career and work to go on without carrying computer or smart phone. Your searches will be mostly about the weather and your outdoor or get home to eat plans. Really, Apple Watch 4 with cellular is the solution for the smart phone whiners but still adopting to the way many jobs and the world are.

Spending time with family and friends at our beach house. Beach, boating, golf, fishing...canít get enough of this and I cram as much in during Summer as I possibly can.

As a rule, man is a fool. When it's hot, he wants it cool; When its cool, he wants it hot. Always wanting, what is not.

Benjamin Disraeli

But from a practical viewpoint, I like putting the wet suit away and not being concerned about windchill when mountain biking (but boy does the sweat sting when it gets in my eyes).

Yes, getting outside into the fresh air and doing useful work, getting the vegetable garden ready, getting the flower gardens ready to look their best, I get a lot of rejuvenation from that stuff. I also get very tired physically, but that's just age creeping up on me. For now I can continue doing this stuff. It matters to me for some reason.
