Sides are sanded and profiled to shape so its time to assemble the rim:

The side ends are trimmed to length and the Double Sides are placed inside the body mold:

Oh, BTW, this guitar will utilize the brilliant design of Linda Manzer, "The Manzer Wedge":

Laminated tail block will be trimmed to to fit the Manzer Wedge:

Glue is applied to the laminated tail block, with a super high tech glue spreading device:

Tim, I've got one of those high tech glue spreaders. I think mine must be an older model.

Very nice guitar taking shape here. Can't wait to hear about how it sounds when it is strung up.

Best,

I would never challenge anyone else to photo bomb their boss on company time just to see if it is without repercussion.

Smile Very fun thread!

I am getting sucked into the luthier's corner here on AGF!

You guys are all so incredibly talented, and so dang NICE!!! Lots of inspiration!

BTW, To backtrack a bit I have a VERY NICE R. Taylor style 2. (GC) in Sinker Redwood and Claro Walnut. I commissioned it for my 60th birthday. The sound is super warm yet very clear and it does amplify super well with the ES 1.3!!! Which I still prefer to the ES 2. But I play solo, and do not need to cut thru a band...

You might want to check out the McIntyre acoustic feather SBT. Sounds much like the K&K, but not quite as hot a signal, and a bit more Woody to my ears.
Does require an external pre amp, as does the K&K, usually.

Carry on guys! You all make the world a better and more musical place! One super guitar at a time...

I am off to practice Christmas Carols!

Cheers

Paul

Hi Paul,
I have used the Feather PUP a few times before. Its a good PUP for sure. Thanks for the kind comments. BTW, you should post a few of your Christmas Carols. I would love to hear them. Tis the season, right?

Smile Carol posting

Hey Tim

I guess I should get busy and do some recording... Meanwhile, you could whistle while you work!

Cheers.

Thanks David,

I'm looking forward to seeing another one of your masterful builds soon. I am as envious of your videography skills as I am of your building skills!

Excellent build thread Tim. I am intreaged by the glimpses of your CLEAN shop. Have you ever posted a shop tour? I bet a lot of folks would like to see it.

Clean??? Hahaha, good one John. I wish it was a LOT cleaner. If only I had a floor as clean as those NASCAR shops you see on TV where one could eat off the floor. But in the real world, professional saw dust makers create a LOT of mess in a hurry, don't we? Now if I only had one of those small blue Smurfs following me around all day long with a vacuum, then I could get a lot more work done.

No, I've not posted a shop tour but that's not a bad idea. Now if I only had the time to put that vacuum down long enough to hold a camera
