Thanks Lonzo!
Thanks DanR, it’s coming together very well. The tap tone is very responsive and strong. I’m looking forward to hearing this torrefied Hard Maple. Mark

Ready for Finish
I've got this Piña parlor all set for finish so we won't be seeing this one for awhile:
The torrified curly Hard Maple on the back/sides and neck are all from the same board. I'm excited to see this light up under finish. With a wipe of Naptha thinner we have an indicator of what's in store: Thanks for following along! Mark

Mark, is torrified figured wood more stable dimensionally over time? Beautiful guitar.

I love it when necks are highly figured and you have really complemented the flamed Maple with your cross-grained center strip (and subtle purfling). Well done, Mark!
Why don't we see more flamed (or quilted) necks, Mark? Is it a matter of cost? Of stability? Of the figure being harder to work? |

Dots
I've taken to making my own marker dots. I have an extensive shell collection so I want to make my own. I can make any size I want and like resawing my own wood it allows me to better select just where I want to cut.
I'm working on my Mahogany Woodsman and decided I want to have gold fret markers and while I'm at it I want 1/8th" dots instead of the usual 3/32nds". I'm still working out the bugs in my technique so I cut a bunch of extras. In the end it all worked out well: Mark
