Default Acoustic Original (Duet) Up In The Stars

Here's a simple love song I wrote for some friends. My friend Lacey had made a comment to her lover that since they were apart for awhile they should both look up into the sky and see the same stars. That way they both were thinking of one another while seeing the same thing. I liked the sentiment so....

Lacey and I are singing together while I'm fingerpicking (Martin HD28) while Lacey is playing her fiddle. We hit record soon as we could get through the song so it's pretty fresh

Up In The Stars / Weldon 2018

I'm standing here, I'm missing you,
in the quiet of the night
I'm looking for, the smile I miss,
way up in the sky
up in the the stars above

There's your smile, it's hanging on,
a star that shines so bright
There's our love,
it's shining through,
the darkness of the night

So take a little time for me,
and look up in the sky you'll see,
a star that shines so bright
it has to be, our love,
up in the stars above

We'll only be apart awhile
'till we sort it out
And soon I'll hold in you in my arms,
I think as I look up,
into the stars above

So when your sitting all alone,
dealing with the blues
'til we are together,
there is something you can do

Take a little time for me
and look up in the sky you'll see
a star that shines so bright
it has to be, our love,
up in the stars above

a shining star
up in the stars above
our love
up in the stars above

Well done! Very nice Daniel! I like the addition of the violin!

Thanks Glenn, Lacey is good friend of mine and we really like playing together. I'm glad we did this.

I forgot to say this is a Martin HD28 recorded through a UA LA-610 preamp (actually all tracks were recorded through it).
