... you were “simply” cutting it out.... very interesting how you approached this and dealt with it... impressive !

All kidding aside, the maple leaf is a cool idea and looks fantastic!
Thanks, yeah binding would be a challenge. How about bound by light!

Default First Gloss

Here's an update on the recent Redwood/Claro Greta with it's first gloss coat on:

It's coming along well. I like how much the reds are starting to come up in the Clasa Walnut!

Thanks for viewing!

Default I was expecting the top..

..to be as nice as the recent flamed redwood one, seeing they are sister stes..no disappointment here
..but the walnut back is as nice - the colors pop and match the biggest surprise for me..
I just love the color of the neck and its appointments under lacquer... fantastic !
.. now I am curious for the other side of that headstock !

I bet this will be great with the contrast of the binding/purfling and some blue sparkle

Thank Lonzo, we won’t need to wait too long. I’m excited to to the top of that headstock too!

I agree, the binding contrast will add some definition and the sparkle from the abalone will show up well near to the dark binding.

Thanks BrianM99! It’s a unique look. I love all the two toned Amboyna burl on this one too.

Default Parlor Update

Here is a couple pictures of the selected backstrap for the parlor:

It is the same torrified curly Hard Maple used of the headstock overlay and in the rosette. I book matched two pieces on the darker sides so the shading would go on up the middle to carry on the dark center laminate going up the neck.

The Macassar Ebony fretboard is also bound in Macassar Ebony and carries Blue Paua pufling lines:

The body also has the same Macassar binding along with the Blue Paua purfling around the top:

More to come!
