Oh, I bet that sounds awesome, Bruce. Did Pete do that for "Quadrophenia" too?

Good question.
I have the Deluxe Edition of Quadrophenia, Live at Leeds, Sell Out and Who's Next but it's only Tommy that has a 5.1 mix.

To me Quadrophenia is Keith Moon at his very peak, his drumming and how they recorded him are outstanding.

I have all those, but I don't remember the deluxe edition of "Quadrophenia." Sounds appealing though.

I agree with that. Moon was an interesting drummer. There were times when I really liked what he did and times when I could hardly listen to him. Obviously, his performances varied a lot... for all kinds of personal reasons. But I think you're right... his performance on "Quadrophenia" was outstanding. I really enjoy that album. It didn't end up meeting Pete's high expectations, but I thought in a lot of ways, it may have been their best.

The Who Sell Out is a great album too... but released 7 months after Sgt Peppers didn't do it justice.

I saw The Who when I was a senior in high school, in 1982, and they rocked my world. Keith Moon was gone by then, but the band was still incredibly powerful. 30 years passed until I saw them again. They did a Quadrophenia concert tour in 2012-2013 and we went, not expecting much, with John Entwistle also gone. But they surprised me, still powerful and they put on a great show.

HUGE Who fan. I met Roger Daltrey in a restaurant last year and he was kind enough to have a nice conversation with me. Very gracious.
