That was magnificent. We need that song now more than ever. Thank you Paul and thank you Bob for posting it.

Thanks, Bob.
Thanks so much, Paul.
Takes me back, sets me to sittin' and thinkin', then snaps me back to our perspective on ourselves today.

Mmm.

True, a national treasure, poet/songwriter

And I don't know a soul who's not been battered
I don't have a friend who feels at ease
I don't know a dream that's not been shattered
or driven to its knees
But it's all right, it's all right
We've lived so well so long
Still, when I think of the road
we're traveling on
I wonder what went wrong
I can't help it, I wonder what went wrong

My favorite part of that verse is:

But it's all right, it's all right
We've lived so well so long

Paul's solo singer / songwriter music is so dang fine.
His lyrical evolution astonishing.

Maybe it is because of my undying love for this genre?
These solo (and duet) songs are intimate, sparse and stripped down to an essence.

Paul composes and executes with a potent level of eloquent sophistication. Paul, a songwriting master, makes it look so easy.
But my guess is that he worked.
He must have pushed for this high art, especially as a boy and young man.

Thanks for posting.

Brooklyn Bob,

Thanks for posting this video of one of my favorite performers. I was just starting to appreciate music when S&G were becoming well known.

BTW, I grew up on E. 36 St in the Marine Park section of Brooklyn. Where part of Brooklyn are you from originally?

Well said. Paul Simon has a real knack for writing songs that describe the human condition. He is one of my all-time favorites.

We used to live on McDonald Ave. between Church Ave. & Ave. C.

McDonald Ave. looks to be the border between Borough Park and Kensington. Technically we lived on the Kensington side although we didn't know it at the time.
