I love these build threads, Dustin. Your passion and playing always match the luthier artistry. Always! Can’t wait to hear you on it.

Marc knows I'd never want a visually-restrained guitar I've always loved the refined, but elegant look and feel to his fit and finish.

I'm really looking forward to your NGD with your new Beneteau guitar, Dustin. I have a request- if you like- post a video of you playing it here on the Forum for all of us to marvel at the meeting place of extraordinary musicianship, and superlative craft? I mean, you, and the guitar. Together. That will be well worth the wait!

Got spoiled today with build process photos... I always tell Marc to have fun and experiment when he builds me a guitar so I'm really happy to see what he did with this new triangular inlay at the head veneer and these floating backstrips. He explained the center line on the head veneer is just a pencil guide that will be sanded out before doing his normal "B" logo at the top. This will look great in photographs, echoing the beautiful Spalted rosette.

Exciting day indeed! I've not had photos for what feels like ages (in reality it's about 3 weeks!). This one looks fantastic too. Nothing overdone on any way.

Marc always has some of the very silky sitka spruce, I really love that! Looks so classy and elegant and will sound even better, I'm dead sure about that.

Dustin,

I had a shop visit this week with Marc, and had the pleasure of seeing the guitars currently being built right now, one of which was yours. Sorry if I left any finger prints but I’m sure the final sanding will remove them. Your guitar is looking great, and just taping the top produced quite a magnificent sound from the body, boding well for things to come once the guitar is strung up.

Marc’s work is very clean, which was evident in all the guitars in the shop. He’s a pretty cool guy as well. I got to play his personal guitar and can see why you have multiple builds from Marc. I also see why many people on the AGF take time to visit with their luthier throughout the build when possible, its a very cathartic experience. As a tool guy, this visit was a double bonus … lol

Looking forward to hearing you play your guitar, once you have receive it.

He's mentioned it comes directly from Alaska and he processes the wood himself...I am SO excited to hear how it sounds.

Ah, great news! I appreciate the response...I'm extremely jealous you are capable of just stopping by! I'm sure the body is very lively with the torrified top. Marc is really cool and down to earth, one of the main reasons I keep ordering with him, this likely won't be the last if I'm being honest. His fit and finish is definitely up there among the best. I would've loved to play his Sitka/Braz Model M. Have a great weekend

Always love the first photo that comes in where you really start to "recognize" your new guitar!

Neck is being worked on then finish very soon.

Dustin,

There are certain stages that stand out above the others during the long build process…stages that signify “benchmark moments.”
Introducing the neck to the body…and the ensuing dance of trajectory, is always one of my favorite experiences.

Looking forward to hearing this one. I'm over the moon about my Ryan Nightingale that is torrefied bearclaw sitka and indian rosewood and think it will be an incredible combo in an OM...especially from such a great luthier.

Absolutely. I think Sitka/Indian is generally a fool-proof tonewood combo but with it being torrefied and Marc knowing what I look for in an acoustic guitar this will be an extra special build. I can't wait to hear it's first notes/chords.
