Default Let's do a Sound Check

I’m 70 years old and I’m currently playing rhythm/melody/picking acoustic as well as doing lead vocals in a couple of groups. I’m playing through a Fishman Loudbox Performer 190w amplifier. I’m looking to add a pedal or some pedals to my repertoire. I want to have the ability to sound like I’m on a 12 string guitar as well as get a sound on some songs as if I’m playing through a tube amp. I know some folks are going to say “Get a #%$#@g 12 string guitar” and that’s not going to happen, I’ve already tried it. I can pick up a small tube amp, I just want to know if I can pedal it instead of adding another amp to my gear. We play old Rock n Roll… Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Pink Floyd, Eagles, Traveling Wilburys and Tom Petty that kind of stuff. For 12 string sound I’m currently using a DOD fx64 Ice Box and it has a great sound. I am just in search of more information and some input from y’all!

Very easily done, and very well I might add, with this pedal!

Here's a demo and it really nails a 12 string!

For the tube-esque sound, I use one of these

Swapping out the tubes for one that breaks up sooner helps a bit more.

As for the 12 string sound, an octave pedal will handle that chore. Finding one that tracks well depends on your budget.

PS-As far as playing an acoustic guitar and making it sound like you're playing through a tube amp??

Perhaps your description of what you're trying to sound like is not quite right. Are you looking to have your acoustic sound more like an electric with some 'edge'?

The EHX Pitch Fork is worth a test drive.

The other guy in my duo uses a Mosaic for 12 string parts. I think it sounds quite good as long as he doesn't over do the settings.

A Variax can do what you want while giving you the easy playability of an electric along with acoustic, 12-string, and various electric emulations.
