Smile My Journey has just begun

Hi all,
I've been just lurking in this forum for a while now, reading all the posts and trying to decide on my first CF guitar. I am so happy to tell you that I've just ordered an Emerald X20. My emotional journey of waiting is just beginning but still I'm very excited that in the distant future I will have one of those beautiful guitars. Thank you to the many people who have posted many informative posts which helped me make my decision.
Dan

Congratulations on your order. I placed mine about a month ago, and the first few weeks were pretty easy, now I am getting pretty antsy, though I still have a loooong way to go.

I'm getting an amber X20 with an anthem pickup. I was original hoping to get a cocbolo wood veneer but it's just too much extra cost for right now. Besides, I started thinking that showing off the carbon fiber weave is not a bad thing. The wait is going to be tough though. I'm already dreaming about holding it in my arms. LOL

Play your D18 a lot while you wait. If my story is any indication, you probably won't be playing it much after the X20 arrives.

Congrats on getting your guitar in the works, Dan! Emerald does a beautiful job with the CF weave. Hopefully, the wait passes quickly for you, but in the meantime, you can enjoy those "dreams." I won't be surprised if the reality surpasses the dream.

I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with an all carbon fiber guitar, especially that amber! You are quite right about the price of the woody top veneers - very expensive. And in all honesty all they provide is a unique look. It does absolutely nothing else for the guitar than the look. I'm not sure it's worth that big a price bump and yet I'm on my second woody custom order.

The upside to just going with an all CF guitars is you'll likely not have to wait nearly as long as the rest of us unless you ordered certain other custom features. Did they give you a wait time? I would think you'll have yours in a month or so.

The only change I made was to an anthem pickup. I didn't ask about the wait time. I just assumed it would be around 4 months. It would be awesome if it would come in time for my birthday in October. I guess time will tell. I'm pretty excited about getting it though.

Congrats on your buy! Imo, Emerald has set a new standard and I don't think that you'll be disappointed. My condolences on the wait though.

That's OK... there's always next time!

The wait will be worth it.
