Seems a shame to put that fingerboard on a guitar...it looks so cool just on its own

Nice photos Dion.

In the shop today...

It’s a rare treat to see this level of craftsmanship up close. My good Luthier is very skilled at explaining the process too. It’s an impressive instrument in the making with no details overlooked.
Wow. I need to practice!

Jed Z, a belated Welcome to the AGF! Looks like you've got a great guitar in the making. I've never heard of Dion but I just found his website with some beautiful guitars.

Looking forward to reading about your review once it's in your hands.

Thanks Dru, it’s nice to share this experience with interested and interesting people.
Dion is the real thing - so talented and exacting. It’s a pleasure to see the process.

Smile Welcome aboard!

Hey Jed

Welcome to the candy store! Your new guitar looks beautiful already... mighty nice work Dion!!!

Did I miss the species of spruce? That Coco is mighty pretty.

Enjoy the process.

As others mentioned you are indeed fortunate to live close to your chosen Luthier!!

Cheers

Paul

Hi Paul, I chose Italian Spruce for the top. Gorgeous.
You’re right it’s an experience to have a front row seat for this build. Dion is not only a talented craftsman, he’s also very good at explaining this intricate process to me.

A shot of the start of the bracing behind the sound hole.

A comparison shot of the tops from two of Dion’s builds: beautiful wood and craftsmanship...
