Default 2008 Taylor Fall Ltd Koa GS + balanced 1/4” to XLR cable = magic

I tried my 2008 Taylor Fall Ltd. Koa GS with ES 1.2, plugged directly into the PA system via a balanced 1/4” to XLR cable, at church yesterday. The result was pure magic to me. Honestly, it was the best it’s ever sounded, plugged in, since I’ve owned it. I’m gonna try my GS Mini Koa ES2 next and see if I prefer it that way too. Does anyone else prefer their Taylor’s ran the same way?

I had a 2008 Taylor Fall LTD and it was a magic guitar. I'm glad you're still enjoying yours!

This thing is ridiculous! A guitar shouldn’t look so good and sound this good!! I believe Taylor sprinkled magic dust on them!!

I've tried several configurations but I still find what you describe to be the best.

The ES2 is not a balanced signal so you won’t gain anything by using that cable. Use a line (DI) box between the guitar and the mixer if you want a similar result, though the sound will still be different as it is a totally different pickup system.

What Pieter said ^^^ regarding the GS with ES2.

But totally agree regarding using a balanced cable for the ES 1 system. Others may refute it, saying its just a louder signal, but results speak to our ears, don't they?

It's a totally different guitar plugged in this way. I had been fighting my sound every week running through my wireless and my amp. Sunday was great!! Super easy to tweak to get that perfect sound using my onboard controls. I'm a believer!!
