Book for live sound recommendation?
Or web page, but still prefer grippable book.
Asked to run sound for an informal duo/trio (depending on who gets pulled on stage- maybe add a cajon or bass too) at a local bar. Probably looking at a 8-12ch mixer and powered 10” speakers. Have tinkered at home and coffeeshop, but would like a primer and pitfall guide before upping the game. Place is a large metal barn with concrete floor and metal roof. Avoiding harshness has been a challenge for even accomplished touring bands, so Im not going to expect greatness here. No room treatments will be likely for some time. Thanks for any pointers or warnings

I'll start the suggestions with this book that has been around for a couple of decades:
https://www.amazon.com/Sound-Reinfor.../dp/0881889008 If you want a more basic, although fairly comprehensive, guide to components of a PA system, here is a great place to start: http://yorkville.com/downloads/other/paguide.pdf |
