I'm hearing a dip in the low mids. Everything else is there, including the low-lows. It's the same when he talks as when he plays. My first guess wouldn't be mics or mic placement or phase cancellation, it'd be trapping or cancellation in the room.

Basically move stuff around until it sounds good. Can’t assume a mic placement that looks good IS good because of room variables. Have to place mic/performer, listen, rinse, repeat.
