What new guitar did you get? If you posted about it, either I missed it or I've forgotten (entirely possible as of late).

I just got word today that the Serrano 84 mics I pre-ordered are going to ship in a couple of weeks. I'm curious to put them up against my Gefells. At some point either next month of the month after, I'm going to order the BU67. It just sounds too good to my ears and I've been patiently waiting a long time for someone to get as close as Ben did. I'll shoot that out with my Flea 47 when it arrives.

I snooped around and found it. A really beautiful guitar and it has the best tuners I've ever used... Schertler. That was a good upgrade on someone's part.

Hi mate.

you have the brighter end of the spectrum covered and also the more earthy side so at this point, you could look into a U47 style or even a more neutral 67 or 87 style.

the 67 is a great neutral ground mic that always sounds good and useable. it can be a little boring at times but this is often a real pleasure to deal with in the mix phase.

I hope this advice helps somewhat!!

cheers.

Part Two of this review is posted. In this video, he explores the tonal variety afforded by the internal switches. I'm still loving what I'm hearing from this mic.

Default BU67

BU67 Thread:
I see you liked Josh's Bu67 review. Nice.
Beesneez mics have always been an interesting choice for me in the past as I have had a few but when a one of you mentioned Signal Art Electronics Mics that peaked my interest.
I have had Chad make me a few SAE mics and they have always been first class.
I loved my Heiserman H47T mic so much that I have now commissioned Chad to make me an EF800 Circuit 47. I cant wait to get this.
Back to the BU67 thread.
I think Ben will have a nice mic on his hands and this could quickly become a deal breaker for people chasing a Neuman U87. The BU67 would be a great alternative.
The 269 mod, S2 mod and other switches in side the BU67 make this mic quite versatile.
I am tempted to add it to my collection but I will wait until end of year sales and see what happens.

hehe... Ben, I held out as long as I could. For years I've been wishing for a decent 67 clone but every one I heard disappointed me ...until yours.

definitely post some examples when you get it. I'm curious.

I just did a huge shootout with all our tube mics at the studio, since we just got the Signal Art U47 Premium Reference. I'm in that mode right now & enjoying the subtle (and not so subtle) differences each mic brings.

I spoke briefly to a friend of mine about doing a combined shootout using my mics and his mics. We'll probably include my Flea 47 and his Flea 49, and my BU67 and his 87ai with the IO Audio 67 conversion. I'm not sure if we'll add more mics to the mix. We'll work it out after the BU67 arrives.
