Default NGD - Martin DJR-10 Sapele

A few months ago I was injured at work and had to sell my Larrivee D-40. Last month I started looking at Edmond Music and played alot of guitars. I've been wanting something smaller and a little easier on the budget. It came down to a OO Eastman and the Martin. But it was seriously not a hard choice. I've never necessarily been a huge fan of Martin, but this little guitar is so amazing! Very resonant, bassy and alot of volume. The 1 3/4 nut has been a nice change, especially since I've wanted to start focusing a little more on fingerstyle. I've never felt so much vibration in a guitar.....don't know if it's because of the smaller size or if I happened to find a real gem, but either way, I couldn't be happier!
I want to give a shout out to Edmond Music (Edmond, OK). I was able to put hands on any guitar they had including an amazing OOO-28 Modern Deluxe. The sales people were very friendly and helpful as well. Check them out if you're in the area.

Congrats! They are fabulous. I had the original Djr 2 with the slightly wider body. I moved it on only because it wasn't comfortable for my shoulder. While i was once questioning Martin's decision to narrow the depth, it really was a good move. You don't lose that much under the hood with that 1/4 scalloped bracing.

Should you go on trying new strings I highly recommend DR Sunbeams. Those strings and that tonewood combination are heavenly.

I really am impressed with the Retro's that came on it, but I'll definitely try the Sunbeams; they were my favorite on the Larrivee!

Congrats! That’s a great guitar to own. Enjoy playing and bonding with it!

I used to own the Dread Jr.2, for close to 3 years until I sold it couple months ago.

Congrats on the DJr. I really like mine and have made some easy mods to it. I replaced the tuners with Gotoh 510 mini's which are my favorite tuners - very smooth. I also replaced the saddle with a Bob Colosi bone saddle. I also switched out the bridge pins. Most of these changes were cosmetic, but definitely added to the enjoyment I have playing this sweet little guitar. Enjoy yours.

Mike

Great guitar. I had the spruce top version and for some stupid reason sold it. I will get another. Keep it, play it, love it!

Just a wonderful guitar. Bought one the first year they came out. It is my most played. Come and gone are two 000 Martins and a Taylor, yet this little Martin Djr. remains by my side.

Hope you enjoy as much as I do.

I was thinking of breaking down and getting the Martin hard case but it costs a third as much as the guitar
Does that case fit pretty well? I wouldn't want it to be much longer than the guitar...
