Default Pick Storage Obvious Solution

So simple, why didn't we all think of it before?

I did that, but I found the strings made it hard to get my hand in to grab the picks out.

My solution: I made a hole of equal circumference in the back, so I can just reach right in.

Wink

Back in 1979 or thereabouts, when I first started learning to play the guitar. My friends and I used cheap Made in China guitars and we used to throw our pick/s into the soundhole of our guitars. We were also quite skilled in retrieving them (the picks). So when I read a few times here that members had a hard time getting their picks out after throwing them into the soundhole, my thoughts were, "Really? It's a piece of cake".

I guess it's due to the reason that "practise makes perfect". We did it all the time (many moons ago).

Do I still do it now? No. Why? I have more picks now and I have a nice box to keep the picks in. Also, I don't think it's the best way to keep the picks.

If anyone is interested in an easy way to get the pick out after throwing it in? Ask me and I'll reply.

Duty of Care Statement follows :

It is not recommended that picks are stored within the bodies of Archtop guitars with "F-holes".

Notice ends.

Back in the old days we used to toss the pick into the soundhole when we finished playing. And then one day the smartest guy I ever met taught me to tuck pick into the strings until it was needed again. Thus my rise from humble beginnings.

Bruce - that's Hilarious! Sometimes the most obvious answer is right in front of our eyes.

I tried that but after a while the guitar sounded terrible, kinda muted.
