Default Schertler David 80W Acoustic Amplifier

$400 shipped CONUS

$325 picked up North Dallas near 75 & 635.

$xx475xxx shipped

~~xx$575xxshippedxx~~

I bought this Swiss made amp really as an experiment in playing, as I had never tried an amp on an acoustic guitar. I’m not a performer and so it stayed next to the guitar stand and seat. I would try it out occasionally, but I never mastered it, really never tried or gave it the time. Nor did I ever take it anywhere. My guess is that it has around five hours usage tops, all low volume. It has two channels, and a mic jack which I never tried. It has two power amps with an active crossover, 50 amps to a 6” woofer, 30 amps to a 1” dome tweeter. It comes with a padded canvas case, power cord, acoustic jack cord and spec sheet. I have a manual as a .pdf with number of wiring and hook-up diagrams, explanation of the many dials. It works perfectly.

Here is the info from the spec sheet:
Frequency response: 40 Hz – 22 kHz
Power: 50w + 30w RMS, bi-amplified
Effect: Spring Reverb
Weight: 11kg/24lbs.
Woofer: 6”
Tweeter: DOME 1”

Outputs: Direct Out XLR
Line ¼”
Aux. ¼” volume control

Inputs :MIC XLR / 48V 35dBm
DYN XLR / ¼” 35dBm
STAT ¼” 28 dBm
Line ¼” 16 dBm

I picked up one of these just last week to use to try at home just like you did. My first impression after playing each of my guitars through it the last few days is that it is a really nice amp. I am particularly impressed with the sound I get from my smaller guitars. The sound produced is that of the acoustic guitar and does not sound electric in the least. With no real experience in amplification or playing out, I can't claim expertise, but I am really impressed and pleased. Thought I only wanted a nice and less expensive amp to play with like the highly regarded Fishman Loudbox Mini or a Schertler Giulia, but this one came up and I went for it. Really happy with it and the size and weight are really convenient.

Jeff

I'm a hardcore Schertler user with both a Jam 400 and a Jam 200, and the amp that started me down the Schertler path, was a David that I heard in a music store in Sun Valley Idaho, when I was on tour many years back. I couldn't believe how good this small "Goliath Slayer" amp reproduced the tone of my guitar. The only reason I didn't buy that Goliath was I needed more channels, but it was great, and was just like the one being sold here! Good luck with the sale!

Personally IMNSHO I would take this over a Fishman Loudbox mini any day of the week!

Sonic excellence. Owned a Schertler Unico. If I were to A B a David with a Fishman Mini I am sure 9 out of 10 would pick the Schertler.
