Default Best price on new Taylors?

Got a buddy of mine who is looking to buy a new Taylor. Saw the old thread on here and it's so old some of the stores have already permanently closed.

So, where can he find the best price on a new Taylor?

Try some of the Forum sponsors. I've never dealt with them personally, but I've heard good things about Shoreline music, and I know they carry Taylor.

I've never bought from a sponsor, but I've heard they are fantastic... I have spoken at the team at Maury's music, and even though I haven't ordered from them, I was very, very impressed by their knowledge and their prices.

Anyway, sorry I can't be more help, directly, but there's a list of sponsors right there to the right of the forum page. If I were buying a new Taylor, my first 2 stops would be Shoreline and Reverb. Chicago Music Exchange (who runs Reverb.com) has great deals on their "floor models" fairly regularly.

Good luck.

Trinity Guitars closed its doors. Jim decided to retire. Bad for me. Good for him. He'll still be building guitars.

As between LA Guitar Sales and My Favorite Guitars, I'd go with the latter based on my experience. Similar prices but a lot more QC with MFG.

Give Moore Guitars,Evansville, IN, (888) 794-8482 a call.

I purchased my Roadshow GS Mini KOA from them, and all I can say is they have fantastic customer service.

When I received my GS Mini, there was a minor flaw with the neck, very hard to see. They arranged to have it shipped back to them, they sent it to Taylor for a new neck, and after the repair shipped it back to me; can't ask for better customer service than that!

My Favorite Guitars is no longer a Taylor dealer. You can't go wrong with Ted at LA Guitar Sales https://www.laguitarsales.com or John at Shoreline Music https://shorelinemusic.com when shopping for Taylors....

Jon is not a Taylor dealer. Martin only.

I am very familiar with the best discounts on Martins but not Taylor. Are Taylors discounted like Martins?

I called all three sponsors: Wildwood, Shoreline, and LA Guitars. I won't get into specific prices because that doesn't seem appropriate, but I will say that each guy was very nice and the price between the three didn't vary more than $100 from the lowest to the highest.

Rexfordbridge,

Thanks for posting this! I was planning on doing the same thing you just did and you saved me the time and trouble

I had feeling that when buying a Taylor -- as long as it is a new, recent model -- prices would not vary much. You confirmed it.

For those who have reported finding "amazing" deals on a new Taylor -- I suspect they were buying an older model a store was trying to clear out, or a floor demo, or something like that.

I'm another who says go with Ted at LA Guitar Sales. I've bought a number of guitars from him and he generally has the best online price. He's great to work with, too.
