Anyone know what kind of guitar Santana is playing in this video? I really like the design of it but ain’t ever seen one like it

I don’t recognize it, either. I must say that I like its looks and visual aesthetics more than I like its sound, which is pretty “piezo quacky.” But it is an elegant looking guitar, no question about it.
I looked up the year Santana released that song, which was 2010. Given Carlos Santana’s longtime affiliation with Paul Reed Smith guitars, perhaps that’s a prototype of a PRS guitar that they ran up for him. An instrument along the same lines as a Taylor T5. whm |

Love the song, love the arrangement and love the singer. I would never presume to suggest technique to a player like Santana - who is ten times better than I - but I find I don't enjoy the tone of this kind of guitar with aggressive picking.
He sure gets a beautiful tone from that electric guitar.

Just an amazing arrangement of a classic Harrison tune. Carlos ALWAYS delivers...and the vocalist...well...she's stellar too! Thanks for sharing...I'm sure George is smiling.

Yeah I absolutely love the looks of the guitar but wanted to get a better look at it (thanks for finding it Steve) but Mayb it sounded better in person since the dude could literally have any guitar on the market that he wanted. Regardless thanks for the help

Was there a guitar in the clip?
Oh yeah ... there it is. I did notice at 0.43 that Carlos is wearing a black PRS strap while he's playing it.

After several of us expressed bafflement regarding the make and model of the guitar Carlos Santana is playing at the beginning of that video, Steve posted this link:

I personally really liked the neck. Most electrics seem to have a narrow neck which is hard to adjust to since I’m a acoustic player but that one is pretty wide

Nittono is one of the builders featured in this Premier Guitar article on the influence of Japanese esthetics from modern builders; the Shokunin School Of Blending Art, Nature, and Innovation:
https://www.premierguitar.com/articl...ovation?page=6 I wish there was a close-up of the unique way the synthetics are attached at the tailpiece of the nylon guitar in the Premier article... Jcamp, I recently completed an steel string electric which has the same 1-3/4" width as my Taylor acoustic and really like the feel of the slightly wider neck combined with a slightly shorter scale length. I have a Cordoba Fusion Orchestra crossover nylon that has a neck width that in between a conventional nylon-strung acoustic and a narrower steel string guitar. It has a lovely feel to it.
