That's almost blasphemy IMO. The fab four hated what Capitol did to their records.

I don't think I could pick just one. Huge Beatles fan here.

I just turned my 4 yr. old granddaughter on to them. We've been watching some early Beatle performances on youtube. She goes around singing..."She loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah" now.

Plus, she can name all 4 of them when she sees them. I love it.

A Hard Day's Night for their old stuff. One of my favorite songs ever is "Things We Said Today". It was one of the first songs I learned to play on guitar when I came back to them a couple years ago.
For more modern Beatles, Abbey Road is simply a classic.

Umm, isn't it all old now?

I'm a bit late to this thread I know, but I love their early stuff. For me, their 'Beatles for Sale' album is just one I listen to over and over.

Rubber Soul...kind of the best mix of where they were and where they were headed.

Which always blows my mind when you think of what a short period of time that was...

Not that big a fan, but I'd have to say Rubber Soul is probably the best of them when they were an actual BAND. I like a few of their later albums, but they were mostly compilations of the solo acts they became at that point, rather than a functional band. But for my taste, I'll take Exile over any of 'em, about ten times over...

That's so cool about your granddaughter. Great music is for all time and all ages.

Beatles VI (US release)

In 1965-66 I began teaching myself to play major/minor/7th chords on the ukulele and sing (I still prefer to sing harmonies - specifically because of studying this record). I don't recall if the family phono that year was still mono or stereo, but the recording was impeccable. I could hear exactly how each instrument figured in the mix. This varietal rock/pop album was a huge inspiration and presented me with a steep but accessible learning curve as a self-taught musician.

Side one
1. Kansas City/Hey, Hey, Hey, Hey
2. Eight Days a Week
3. You Like Me Too Much
4. Bad Boy
5. I Don't Want to Spoil the Party
6. Words of Love

Side two
1. What You're Doing
2. Yes It Is
3. Dizzy Miss Lizzy
4. Tell Me What You See
5. Every Little Thing

If I could only hear one Beatles album, from now on, I would choose Abbey Road.

That said, I spent a good portion of my adolescent life with St Pepper.

But Tomorrow Never Knows.

Today I may say this. On Tuesday I may choose differently.

Guess I'll Follow The Sun.

Everybody just has to , Think For Yourself.

Surprising lack of love for Magical Mystery Tour, although I know some argue it’s not a true album. It’s my favourite anyway (the US release).

Not only is Sgt. Pepper the best Beatles album, it's the best pop album ever recorded by any post rock 'n roll era band, and by a wide margin, too. Nothing else comes close to it.

IMHO, of course!
