Why Martin OM-28's are more expensive/harder to find that Dreads?

I've been looking into getting a used Martin OM-28/OM-28V, but have found that they are very difficult to find. Also I have noticed that typically they are a lot more expensive than say an HD-28. I've had no problem finding a plethora of HD-28's D28's, and HD-28V's at sub $2000. But I can't seem to find Is there a reason for this?

My guess is that so many more dreadnoughts are sold as compared to OM/OOO and smaller body sizes so supply of them would be much greater in the used channel.

As an owner of a fine OM-28V, that I'll not soon voluntarily unload, it seems to be the guitar that people don't buy by mistake. I think that those who buy OMs do so clearly knowing what they're getting and why. I also think they are one of the best kept secrets of the guitar industry, few shops seem to stock them even though they are so versatile. Dreads are the iconic guitar and are likely the biggest selling shape, I'm guessing.

They simply don't make as many and the production runs are shorter, increasing the cost per unit. Same is true of 000's and the other small bodies that have a direct D equivalent.

It's already been said in different words, but:

Supply and demand.

There is less demand, fewer are made, harder to find and more expensive when you do.

Cant comment on why Martin charges more for om's and 000's than they do for dreads, I guess cause we are willing to pay more fore them, but the abundance of used Martin dreads out there is easily explained, there is a clear movement towards smaller guitars.
