Do archtops sell on AGF?
This is (my favorite) special little corner of an acoustic guitar site and I find myself needing to sell a really nice archtop. It's a great guitar but it's definitely an electric, though with a very fine acoustic voice. Do archtops sell on AGF, is this the spot to list it, or are there better places to sell and buy?

I haven't been around here long enough to speak to the for sale sub forum but I can tell you that jazzguitatr.be would be a good place to list one. Even better if you're a member with some history an interactions with others. I think people are always suspicious on a forum when somebody joins and there first post is a for sale ad. good luck with the sale.

See if archtop.com will work for you. They sure have some nice archtops to drool over (and clean up later...) .
I believe they are located in Seattle |

If you want to catch a fish, put a lot of hooks in the water. I’ve bought and sold several arch top guitars and have resigned myself to be more patient. It’s not as easy a sale as a flat top Martin or Taylor. Here is a good place to drop a hook, but Craigslist and Reverb are my best selling partners for guitars. eBay, not so much-higher fees, lots of distracting ads, etc.
Best way to sell ANYTHING ON LINE: take tons of clear, we’ll lit pictures, take time to do a very detailed description, if possible put up a short YouTube link of it being played, and ALWAYS respond quickly to any questions. A follow up check-back is always a good idea. Packing guitars safely for shipping is an art. There are many online places that detail this from experienced people out there willing to share their knowledge. Good luck with your sale! |

No they don't. Very tough unless you win at lottery frequently. I suggest you post anyway here as well as Reverb. I sold mine recently on Reverb though it was here for 6 months.
