Default Something Different - Maton Messiah small body with burst finish

Just listed at Acoustic Centre - no affiliation - normally they are natural sitka topped (I have one), but they have been doing a few custom burst finishes of late - I saw advertised a Jumbo Messiah and a dread Messiah with bursts - long gone!

This one has a burst and a cutaway.

Someone else thought the same thing...it's gone, sold.

That was quick.

I just played mine for while, it is a beautiful guitar and it could be a shame to paint over the top of mine....AAA Sitka is the blurb. While that doesn't mean diddly if it doesn't sound good, mine is about a 1 1/2 years old and really coming in to its own. (the little mark below the bridge in the photo is a sand flea thinking of eating my guitar!

That silking on your top is amazing and the herringbone looks good too.

It sounds better every day!

Do you want to see the back and sides? I will post some photos later - they really did ‘save the best for the Messiahs’ as claimed. And they did a great setup at the factory - I haven’t touched a thing.

I wonder if the sunburst got as nice a top? Shame to cover it.

The back of that guitar is superb! Maton has a few dealers in the States; perhaps I will have a look at one someday.

A thread was just started by a new USA Maton dealer.....

I should point out that the beautiful guitar above that I posted is the top of the line production model 808 size. So no, Matons are not all like this. They have a whole range of woods and sizes to suit the various needs.

There is also a full custom shop where I haven't dallied, as yet. If the world ever returns to normal sometime, that is on the bucket list - a full custom BK777 model Set the controls for the heart of the sun, baby!
