Default I Graduated!

So...I posted last week about performing with my class at the Old Town School of Music....

As I said, tonight we did Amie by Pure Prairie League.

We scratched the solo because it put us over the time limit, so I just did the intro....and...

it was GREAT! Once I got up there it wasn't bad AT ALL. It's all that anticipation stuff and waiting around that will kill you! I just got up there and played what I knew and it sounded pretty good...I didn't screw it up too bad

At any rate....thank you! to everyone for all the advice. It really helped. It really was a lot of fun and a GREAT way to break into performing in front of people (that was my first time).

(and whoever gave the advice to go to the bathroom beforehand...GOOD ADVICE! )

Now I can't wait to take some more lessons!

Pipsqueak, that was me. I have my performance routine where I "hit the head" right before I go on stage. I drink a lot of water when I am performing multiple songs to keep the throat loose, so when I come off stage, I also head right for the bathroom!

Anyway congrats!! And next time will be easier.

Congrats! I've taken many classes there as well. What class was it and who was your teacher? Those end of class recitals can be intimidating. I remember at my last class (Guitar 4), only three of us (out of 10) showed up for the performance and that only made it that much more intimidating!

Did you guys finger pick or strum the song? I'd love to see the music for the song. Just let me know how to get it if possible.

Thanks.

I took Guitar 2 with Scott Besaw. He was a great teacher, and I might actually take private lessons from him. I've been playing for a while, and the class was a bit remedial, but I still learned a lot from Scott.

We had the same experience....only 7 out of 15 showed for the final performance.

We actually sturmmed the song and I flatpicked the intro....as I said we scratched the solo for time reasons.

I have a great copy of the music tabbed out....as well as the intro and solo. Shoot me an email if you want it. My email is in my profile. The tab I have is a Microsoft Word document.
